Club Registration now open for 2024
For 2024 MIVA will be affiliated with IMBA and insured under Oasis Insurance. Our policy will provide comprehensive general liability for the club and club volunteers while participating in club activities including rides, training and meetings. This means that members will no longer be required to purchase Cycling BC insurance in order to become a MIVA member, but can participate in all our club rides for a single low price of $40 per adult with seniors, U18 and family rates also be available. As members of a IMBA affiliated club, MIVA members are also eligibile for discounts on additional, optional personal liability, accident, or physical bike damage insurance coverage through Pedal Power.
Insurance FAQ
Q: What do I need to participate in MIVA club rides in 2024?
A: MIVA membership only, including signing the MIVA waiver during registration. You do not need to have a Cycling BC Membership, nor an individual IMBA Membership.
Q: Can I still buy Cycling BC membership?
A: While not required to be a MIVA member, you may still wish to purchase cycling BC annual or single day membership, if you participate in other Cycling BC sanctioned or registered events. You can learn more about the benefits of Cycling BC membership here: https://cyclingbc.net/membership/guide/
Q: What if I want additional personal liability, accident, or physical bike damage insurance?
A: Additional insurance is not required to participate in MIVA club events, but there are a number of options members may wish to consider if they would like additional coverage. Note that the following is provided for general information only and should be confirmed with your insurance broker/ professional.
Cycling BC membership offers general liability while on CBC sanctioned events and activities and 24/7 sport accident insurance. Note that liability does not cover non-sanctioned events and activities such as commutes, personal rides, or MIVA rides which will not be sanctioned with CBC in 2024. https://cyclingbc.net/membership/insurance/members/

Oasis Pedal Power offers optional third party liability, accident benefits, and physical damage (bicycle) policies. As members of an IMBA affiliated club, MIVA members can access a discount on any of these policies.
