The Buffalo Hump Gravel Loop is another gravel ride with great scenery, beautiful lakes and mostly nice gravel roads.
We start by exploring the Timberland Lake/McKay Creek Area, then climb up Buffalo Hump, descend into an interesting river area and then return via South Fork Bridge to our cars at Spruston.
The distance is 58.49 km, and the elevation gain is 925 m, so this is a longer, medium-technical gravel ride suitable for more experienced riders, including riders who have ridden the Green Gravel rides and are looking for their next challenge. The ride typically lasts a full day, with stops for snacks, photos, and other breaks.
We will meet at the Timberlands Pub at 8:50 am (just west of the Nananiomo/Cassidy Airport)and start riding at 9:00 am.
Like most MIVA gravel rides, this one is in an area with limited vehicle access or cell service. Riders are expected to be prepared for a six-hour ride, carrying supplies for basic mechanical needs, food, and lots of hydration.
This ride requires MIVA membership, or you can try two MIVA events with signed waivers. Waivers can be found on the "About MIVA" page.
Route GPS files will be shared on Discord gravel events channel
