Here are the Industrial Plastics and Paint Criterium Points to date after 5 races.  Thank you to all of the volunteers in making the series great, and to Janna for compiling the points. MIVA Criterium Scoring (10-June-2015)

Although there were only 13 starters, due no doubt to the threat of rain, this was the fastest event of the year, with the top 6 exceeding 40kph. For the first 7 laps the pack stayed together, despite the initial high pace, Then Justin Mark (Steed Cycles) and Nick Kupiak (Broad Street Cycles) accelerated off the front to test the waters. A second group of four – Sean De Pol and John Lam (MIVA), Ray Wagner (CVCC) and Mark Grant (LUMA)made a successful chase and joined the lead duo. A second chase group of 4 was not so lucky and was left to linger in no man's land for the next 20 laps, finally being lapped with 9 laps left. The rest of the starters, were ridden off the back one by one and were lapped more times by the lead group. The first of the 2 primes was won by Nick Kupiak with the rest of the points taken by Mark Grant and Justin. The 2nd prime however was taken by Justin, with John Lam and Ray Wagner in second and third. This gave the Steed Cycles sprinter enough points to claim the classy Longwood Brewery tankard to add to his collection. At the finish, Nick, Mark Grant and Justin gained a couple of seconds on the remaining unlapped trio and finished in that order, with John Lam coming in 4th. A couple of seconds ahead of Ray Wagner, and Sean De Pol, cramping up to finish a further 5 seconds back. The MIVA Criterium series is back at Boxwood so hit it hard (but not the asphalt).  Details here!

This was the first event this season on the 650 metre Arbutus Circuit.The 18 starters set off on the first of 2 neutral laps but, before the end of the first lap there was a crash and so the race was restarted. Unfortunately, Jessica Reynolds had to retire injured but Rob Bau, who was also involved was able to continue. Within 2 laps, Nick Kupiak (Broad Steet Bikes) and Brodie Hay (Dr. Walker) had gapped the field and these two took top points for the first of the nine sprints, with Mark Wieler (Arrowsmith) leading the bunch for the remaining points. Then Nick,put the hammer down, dropped Brodie, and proceeded to lap the lead bunch of 7 riders three times by race end, taking top points in all the remaining sprints. This group in turn dropped the rest of the riders and shared all remaining points. With 13 laps left, Ray Wagner (CVCC) tried to follow Kupiak and for two laps managed to hang on but Nick proved to be too strong and so Ray spent the Remaining 10 laps on his own, picking up 6 more points in the process. As only 6 riders picked up points, the rest of the finishing order was decided by the final sprint and then by the order of multi-lapped riders on the course.
