MIVA ANNOUNCES BOARD OF DIRECTORS Mid Island Velo Association elected a board of directors at its organisational meeting on January 12th. The new board is headed up by Peter McCaffery who assumes the president's role for the club's first year of operation. He will be ably assisted by fellow directors Philip Birrer, Iain Hay, Ross Palfrey and Tony Winter. The new committee's first few meetings will concentrate on producing a constitution and by-laws, incorporation as a society and affiliating MIVA to Cycling BC, designing and ordering club clothing, and developing membership guidelines. The new club's event schedule for 2011 will also be finalised.

Hi Everyone Mid Island Velo Association - MIVA - is now a reality. This cycling club will be running a competition and recreational road cycling programme in the Mid-Island region with a base in Nanaimo.There will be a general organisational meeting to give membership and programme information and to elect a club committee on Wednesday, January 12th.at 7.30pm at the Longwood Brew Pub restaurant, Nanaimo. All
attendees must sign in in order to be able to vote. We have an exciting year ahead so please come out, bring a friend, and support the new club.
