MIVA's first criterium was well supported by volunteers and all corners weer marshaled, roads were swept and cones put out and collected.  The club has another 41 events during the season and their success depends on volunteer help. Now all volunteers who are also competitors in the events can get 5 points towards their series totals by volunteering to help at a couple of events during the year. By the way, this is also a requirement of membership. The club executive is also looking at a number of other ways of rewarding the volunteers, including T shirts, racing caps, ball caps, and a social at t the end of the season. MIVA is looking for a volunteer coordinator will soon be appointed whose responsibility will be to look after all volunteer assignments and concerns. It is expected that this individual will have a working budget. If you are interested in doing this, please let the president know ASAP.

Over half the original order of MIVA clothing is now sold. If you are thinking of getting jerseys, shorts or jackets, there are a few items left. For club members, jerseys are $45, bib shorts are $55 and jackets are $85. For non club members, jerseys are $59, bibs are $69 and jacket are $99. These prices are still way below anything else on the market and the quality and fit are outstanding.

Mid Island Velo Association is offering a season pass this year. The pass will enable the holder to enteer all 42 of the club events during the season. Cost for this pass is $80, a saving of $130 over the regular club price for entering all events! Please note that only members are eligible to buy the pass. Passes will be available at all events until the end of June.

Tony Winter, one of MIVA's valued executive committee members, is leaving us to take up new employment in Victoria. The club will still have Tony as it's web master but we need a replacement for him on our board and will be interviewing candidates over the next couple of weeks.
