Members of the first 6 teams to register for the MIVA team time trial this Thursday will receive a rare Tim Horton poster of current Pan Am time trial and road race gold medal winner Clara Hughes. Registration will open at 6.30pm just west of junction of Nanaimo River Road and White Rapids Road.

Many cyclists fall victim to flats resulting from the great amount of debris on the Island Highway shoulders. This garbage is especially bad between Duncan and Parksville. MIVA has already reported the problem to the contractor responsible for maintaining this section of highway. We suggest that all our readers who reside in the Mid Island region also contact them to outline your concerns.

54 cm Mercury Argon 18 Time Trial Bike for sale. This is a very fast, smooth, and responsive time trial bike. It is an excellent racing bike and I've had a fantastic time using it. I have only used it for time trialing, and I find it on average 10% faster than my Ridley Road Bike for the same power output. I have only used it for two racing seasons and it has been well maintained and is in excellent condition. I hate to let it go, but am downsizing and won't have room for it in my new house. The next MIVA time trial, on Thursday May 12th., is for two person teams. Participants make sure you have a team mate to ride with. Anyone who is not part of a two person team may ride solo after the last team has started. At the organiser's discretion, teams of more than two may start but they will not be eligible for placing points, just receiving two points for participation. As usual, volunteers for time keeping help, marshaling, and holding, will receive five points towards their series total.
