BC PROVINCIAL TIME TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Tripleshot Cycling is proud to present the 2011 BC TT and TTT Championships.     Thanks to the generous cooperation of the Sidney Velo Club and the BC Master’s Cycling Association 2011 will have a Provincial championship in the RACE OF TRUTH. We apologize for the last minute notice but hope that all of our mainland friends will join us in the Warm Land of the Cowichan Valley on Saturday August 6th.

Take a 7am ferry over to the Island, race on your own, then race again with friends and still make it home the same day!  What could be better?

Registration is only available online at:

http://reg.ccnbikes.com/index.php/event/bc-time-trial-and-team-time-trial-championships

Its $50 per person ($30 for Juniors & Paracyclists) but if you set up a TTT team you save $$$$!  One TTT team is $180 and you get 4 ITT registrations “free”!

MIVA RIDERS DO WELL IN COMOX

Just  a little update on the weekend. Rob Russell managed to place 4th overall in the stage race, riding hard in the road race to hold onto his gc spot. Brodie Hay rode a great road race and ended up 4th overall in his category. Mother, Charlene managed to complete her first stage race but was beaten by Brodie in both the Hill climb and road race ( she now owes him a pair of cycling shoes as a result). Iain Hay rode well in all events  and finished 14th in GC. Warren Muir, OBB rider who competes in most MIVA events,  finished 3rd in the road race which  put him at 2nd overall in GC. All in all a hard weekend but successful and a great showing by our club.

MIVA 20KM TIME TRIAL/TEAM TIME TRIAL Nanaimo River Road

JULY 14TH, 2011

Most of the day it rained and the organiser went out to the start area expecting that maybe a couple of hardy soul would show up. However, there were six participants and the course was dry, humidity high, and just a light wind.

Lone woman, Colleen Wtorek was first off and rode steadily to get her 12 points. In the men's event, Iain Hay and Kyle Waring had elected to ride a two up time trial and were faster than all except Don Gillmore, who started last and finished first with a time just over half a minute slower than his record for the distance on the Nanaimo River course.
