The 2013 membership form will be available for download shortly in the membership section of the web site. The new clothing will be exactly the same design with a couple of sponsorship changes.
Being hosted by John Barsby Secondary, Operation Generation is an opportunity for both seniors and high-school students alike to learn together. Starting on January 23rd, 2013 we will be running bike mechanics workshops for youth and seniors to work together at John Barsby Secondary. The program will be running weekly on Wednesdays from 11 – 1pm, and will require participants to have a criminal record check done, paid for by Operation Generation.
The program will be running weekly for at least 5 months, and is an opportunity to gain mechanic skills, as well as give back to the young adults in our society. The program will be facilitated by our qualified bicycle mechanic instructors, and will focus on various bicycle mechanic systems offering participants a rounded education in bicycle mechanics and repair.
This project is funded by Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.

Most of those intending to GO to the MIVA Thursday night trainer session probably stayed home to watch the Armstrong interview. The second part of this "Please forgive me, let me ride" saga is onFriday night at 6pm AND 9pm.
It will be most interesting to see what Armstrong will NOT admit to, and how he will excuse the things he does admit to. He has apologised to David Walsh, Betty and Frankie Andrea, and a couple of his former team members but not yet to Floyd Landis, who's revelations first started the process to deal with Armstrong's misdemeanours.
As you can see, the MIVA web site is back up. We are working to resolve the spam issue. Hopefully, things will soon be back to normal.
The club's executive will be publishing the membership categories and criteria in mid-January. The 2013 memberships may include a club jersey and an amount to cover the club race entry fees. The committee is also looking at issuing a season pass for frequent participants in the MIVA events.
