Week Five Winner - Tamara Zavarise - MIVA Weekly Challenges

Tamara Zavarise is our winner for week five of our weekly challenges; “500m of Elevation in One Ride!”. Tamara’s route took her up the Benson View Road climb to Witchcraft Lake, and she packed most of the required 500 meters in to the first half of her ride.

Tamara wins a $50 gift card to Burnt Honey Desert Company!

This week’s challenge is Strava Art, and we’re really excited to see what everyone comes up with!

The second of our MIVA weekly challenges was simply to ride 45 km in one ride. Our weekly challenge winners are chosen at random from the successful entries.

The winner for the second MIVA challenge is...Mark Schilling!!

There was initially some suspicion of the legitimacy of Mark's entry due to the attached photos. However, after reviewing the elevation and speed data on Strava, we have concluded that neither a fighter jet, nor a helicopter were involved in completing the required distance.

Hopefully Mark likes southwestern food, because he's won a $50 gift card to Delicado's!

This week's challenge is the Glen Oaks Hillclimb.

Week One winner, Stephen Mohan - MIVA Weekly Challenges

We are extremely happy to announce that the random number generator has made its choice, and the winner of the first weekly challenge prize is Stephen Mohan. He rode up from Duncan and had a somewhat fraught ride to complete the segment in 8:44. Remember, however that speed is irrelevant and taking part is what counts. I will give a quick shout out to Jaymi Dumper though, who took the segment KOM this week in 6:23.

Stephen wins a $50 gift card to the Milton Street Public House.

Stephen’s win also gives me another chance to remind you all that Stephen is raising money for Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. At the time of writing he’s raised over $11,000, and he and his supporters are well on their way to completing his “Virtual Tour Divide”. We can all help by riding and donating at the link above.

This week’s challenge is simply to ride 45 km in one ride. Good luck to all.
