Ride For Life - May 28
The Ride for Life is coming up soon, below is a message from Chris Forbes extending an invitation. This is a great cause that will make positive change right here in our community. Please join the MIVA team and get signed up, see you there! ---
We are looking for more riders to join the event. I have ridden some of the route, and it looks amazing.
Starting and Ending at the Nanaimo Airport in Cassidy, we have an amazing day planned.
Here are some of the details surround the day of the event:
Thrifty Foods is supplying all of the food for the 3 rest stops and the post ride festivities, which will include salmon and chicken burgers, salads and drinks. Woo hoo.
A live DJ will be “pumping up the crowd all day long.”
Free Participation T-Shirt and Cool “Bottle-Opener Medal” for all finishers.
Very nice “Ride for Life Jerseys” that can be earned by fundraising over and above the entry fee. Three levels of jerseys are available, Pink [Giro Jersey], Red [La Vuelta], Yellow [Tour de France]. Check them our on the website.
Auction Items.
A children’s Fun Zone presented by Coastal Community Credit Union.
Arrowsmith Bikes will be supply a Kids 1km Push Track as we on site and mobile tech support.
Entry Fee is $1 per km. So, if you ride the 25km route, your entry fee will be $25. If you ride the 50km, then entry will be $50, and $100 for the 100km route.
100% OF THE MONEY TAKEN IN WILL BE DONATED TO THE HOSPITAL FOUNDATION. OUR AMAZING SPONSORS HAVE COVERED MORE THAN THE OVERHEAD COST OF THE EVENT.
