BC Coaches Week week is being hosted by Pacific Sport this September. For more information and to register, go here.
Monday evening rides will continue through July and August. Format will be the same, but in order to take advantage of some new routes, we'll be varying the start locations. I'm looking for route suggestions - ~30km range with limited traffic. Reply to the post if you have any thoughts and check back here soon for an updated schedule. For now, we'll start tomorrow (9-Jul) from the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre at 6:30PM.

Another great night and, for the first time, Fast man Don Gilmore was beaten into second place! Don has ridden most of our time trials over the last five years and has been an inspiration to all the other riders. His dedication, attention to detail and careful preparation have resulted in a number of course records and provided a great example to the rest of the participants. As a result, many more time trial bikes have appeared, as well as aero helmets, and there has been a significant improvement in correct cadence and use of gears on our tough course. The club is fortunate that Don made a commitment to travel regularly from Cobble Hill, south of Duncan to grace us with his presence. As expected, it was Paul Auton who finally bettered Don by just thirty-three seconds tonight, doing a personal best in the process. However, Don still holds course record with a 26' 48" Eleven men and three women participated in the event and six did personal bests for the distance, with two new faces showing. Thanks to Kyle Waring for loading up my vehicle .
Next week's team 40km time trial has been replaced by an individual event as our regular participants want to see what they can do for the 40 km distance.
Since some of the MIVA members are going to the triathlon in Penticton this weekend, the Thursday time trial will be modified to a 20km. The club ride this Saturday is to Cowichan area. about 150km medium paced. Stop midway for refreshments etc. Start at Oak Bay Bikes at 7.00am and plan to be back mid-afternoon. Post on the MIVA Facebook page if you are coming so leader Shepherd Stewart will have some idea of numbers.
