The club needs volunteers to prepare the course for My Little Pony Cross. Friday November 1st. for 1pm.to clear passage through barn and to check course for large rocks and stones and other obstacles.Friday, November 8th. at 1pm to set out course tapes, flagging etc. so it is ready to pre-ride first thing on Saturday. The kids' circuit also needs to be set out. Norm. Thibault has kindly agreed to have the equipment trailer on site during the week so all necessary stuff is on hand.
Mid Island Velo Association has put in a bid to run the 2014 BC Provincial Time Trial Championships. To ensure that MIVA does the best job possible, the BOD has authorised the formation of a sub committee whose sole task will be the planning and execution of these championships. The chosen course is Grafton Road in Errington. This excellent road is quiet, easy to marshal and has an almost flat profile, giving competitors the opportunity to do their best time trial ever. In addition, there is a nearby school for the event headquarters and the venue is within half an hour of the Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. The club needs to start work on this exciting project as soon as possible so, if you are interested in working on the sub committee, please forward your names by email before December 1st.
this is notice that the club agm will be held on November 14th. at the Longwood Brew Pub immediately before the awards celebration. Proceedings start at 6pm or when there is a quorum present.Please note that all club offices will be up for election. If you are interested in standing for one of the positions, simply get someone to nominate you and be prepared to give a SHORT presentation on why you think you should be elected. The Awards ceremony is free and the club is providing hors d'oeuvres but you will also be able to buy food and drink from the Brew Pub's excellent menu. Soft drink for the kids will be free.
