Nanaimo Bike to Work Week is fast approaching so MIVA members have the opportunity to amass abundant kilometres and win the contest for greatest distance ridden by a group. Although the title is Bike to Work, you can count any commuter kilometres ridden - shopping, library, school, VIU, etc. To record your kilometres, go to the Nanaimo BTWW site.

The fifth criterium in the Longwood Brewery Series saw 18 riders cruise the 1.1kilometre circuit at almost 40 kph. Male youth participant, Aiden Hare did half the 36 lap distance on his own as he was the only starter in his category. There is a report on the event plus full results here.
