Daylight Savings Time

With the clocks springing forward this week it’s time to look forward to the upcoming season.  While most of us have been hibernating this winter and taking the opportunity to enjoy some down time and relax the board has been busy getting things ready behind the scenes.

First thing to note is that our 2019 Membership registration is open on Webscorer.

We’ve already had quite a few members sign up which is fantastic.  We have a busy season planned with multiple group rides, criteriums, hill climbs and time trials planned so sign up soon if you haven’t already so as not to miss out.

The first event on our soon to be packed calendar is our annual Spring 50/100k challenge.  An opportunity to get together, put some miles in and socialize.  Starting and finishing at Whitesails Brewing on Saturday April 13.  More details to follow.

While we don’t have any official rides on the go, later daylight does make for more opportunities to get out and start training.  Hit up our facebook group to arrange your own group rides.

Cheers,

Weekly recap

What a busy week it's been. Sunday - The super successful and awesome MIVA DIVA ride with 39 riders participating.

Monday - Our regularly scheduled House of Kiyo development Group Ride

Tuesday - The Third in our Five Race series of Hill Climbs sponsored by Arrowsmith Bikes.  For this race we went down by the ocean to climb the extremely challenging Malaspina Road.  Results here

Thursday - We raced our Final time trial of the season on Nanaimo River Road.  It was only 15km but it might as well have been 40 by the way I felt at the end of it.  Speaking of which I forgot to post the results last night but they are up now for all to See.  With this being the final race Points counted Double.  Not a lot of change on the Mens Side of things with James Sage having the series in hand.  On the Womens Side what was a close race between Lorrie and Jamie was decided tonight with Jamie taking the overall win.  Series Standing here

In addition to all of that behind the scenes the wheels have been spinning fast to arrange and set up everyones favorite Mid Summer Cross Race at Diver Lake.

It's definitely short notice, what with it being next Thursday August 2nd.  This also means that we are going to have to reschedule the Final Hill Climb on Nanaimo Lakes Road to the Following Thursday August 9th.

Registration for the Mid Summers Cross Race at Diver Lake Park can be found on Webscorer Click here to register Sign up quick, registration is Capped at 55 entries per race and it's almost half full already.

Cheers,

Patrick
