RYDER MOVES UP TO 7TH. IN TDF
FINAL TDF TIME TRIAL - RYDER UP TO 7TH. ON G.C. Just one more day of getting up at some unearthly hour to watch the Tour! Great to watch the final battle between Contador and Schleck. When Andy had gained 6 seconds by the first time split, many of us were hoping against hope that he would be able to pull off a final win but the rising wind put paid to that. A high point of the morning was Ryder gaining enough time to move himself into 7th. overall; watch for him next year when he may be designated gc contender for Garmin.
Convention has it that the final day is for the sprinters on the Champs Elyssees, with the podium guys taking it easy and sipping champagne while Huschov, Pettachi and Cavendish duke it out for the green jersey but wouldn't it be a sight to see Garmin trying to initiate a breakaway move for Hesdejal or Bjarn Riis orchestrating a move to get time back for Schleck? Ah well, Monday, I'll be able to sleep in for a bit. Go here for CBC report of today's stage.
