MIVA is proud to announce our newest sponsor, the Swet Haus. The Swet Haus will be MIVA's training ground for spin classes this winter.  State of the art machines and top end instructors, MIVA members will pay only $5 for the MIVA only class.  $5, on what can cost up to $20 per session, is an amazing bargain.  We expect all 15 bikes to fill up quickly every week. The class will begin this Thursday, October 29th @ 7pm.  Sessions will be varied, usually in the 45-60 minute range with the occasional endurance night of 90 minutes.  Classes will be every Thursday until March 17, 2016.

MIVA is looking forward to acting as the host club for Race #6 in the Cross on the Rock series, taking place Sunday November 8th, at Arbutus Meadows.... LITTLE PONY CROSS returns!

This race is on the back end of a doubleheader, meaning we *really* need a volunteer crew to help set up the course on Saturday, and take down Sunday. Please contact Ron at hewitsonron@gmail.com if you can volunteer!  Spread the word and come on out!  In 2013 the Pony Cross debuted at Arbutus Meadows and 173 racers took part. In 2014 attendance went through the roof to 241! With the Cross On The Rock races breaking records left right and center, let's take one down ourselves.

Posters (above) will be ready shortly so if you'd like one to put up somewhere to get the word out, let Ron know.

MIVA's AGM (short) and Awards Night/Draw Prize Extravaganza (longer, but awesome) is taking place on Friday November 13th at the Longwood upstairs. All MIVA members attending will have a ballot to fill in and submit that night. Those who cannot attend can do so via a proxy form with someone who is attending.

Until October 15th, 2015 nominations will be accepted via this anonymous google doc form http://goo.gl/forms/KfkuyDLAqF

After this date, all nominees will be contacted to confirm their wishes, and at that point an official ballot will be created. The MIVA board in 2016 will consist of 7 total: 1-President 1-Secretary 1-Treasurer 4-Directors

MIVA has come a long way and it is all due to our amazing membership who bring forth ideas, who attend and support our events, and who lend their time to spread our sport to the mid island region. Please don't hesitate to submit your nomination and be a part of a great group. Even if you can't commit full time to the board (yes, it is a lot of work I won't lie) there are many other ways you can contribute so let MIVA know if you're interested.
