Nanaimo Double Header COTR Weekend

Nanaimo is hosting a double header as a part of the Cross on the Rock Series this November 7th and 8th. This is a huge opportunity for the community to show itself off and host a couple of top shelf events. As I said before, we need the MIVA Army to come together on this weekend and HIT IT HARD. Volunteers will be needed for BOTH events to pull this off. In the middle of these events there will be a Cx Party at Oak Bay Bikes shop on Saturday night! Saturday November 7th Oak Bay Bikes hosts the Kona Kup @ Beban Park. Volunteers will be needed please email oakbaybikesnanaimo@gmail.com asap! Race Reg Link!

Saturday Night Cx party @ Oak Bay Bikes! Snacks, bevvies, and a keg. That's all that needs to be said.  See you there.

Sunday November 8th MIVA hosts My Little Pony Cross @ Arbutus Meadows. Please email Ron @ hewitsonron@gmail.com to let him know you can help!  Race link here!

It's always the same group who ride both races (we're all on the same team here), so your support is appreciated in course set up at Beban, race day support, Beban course take down, Arbutus set up, Pony race day support, Pony set up, etc.A

(I can't figure out how to make the email links directly open up your mail client so copy paste them in, old school way)

SEE YOU FOR A HUGE AWESOME WEEKEND!

Thank you to our sponsors..

Much of what MIVA does would not be possible without our generous sponsors, many of whom continue to support the club year after year. Over the years MIVA has seen more and more interest from sponsors, from logo's on the jersey to naming rights, to anonymous donations. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support, as it enables us to hold over 30 events, provide our members with discounts/giveaways, and many other benefits. Please support MIVA's sponsors as they are local shops, regular people like you and I, who are donating time and money to bike racing in the Nanaimo area. Before you order something online, remember where your dollar goes to. Give your local shops the chance to give a deal at the very least.  Reward exemplary customer service when you get it.

MIVA is getting an early start on sponsorship for the 2016 season as we want to get things set up as early as possible and get gear out there by early March. If you would like to sponsor MIVA please contact us at Miva.President@gmail.com.  The commitment deadline is December 1st, but financials aren't required until the end of January 2016. For any information please email.

The MIVA board of directors will review all proposals.

Thank you once again to all of our great sponsors in 2015! (in no particular order)

My Little Pony Cross - Nov.8

Screen Shot 2015-10-05 at 10.58.19 PMMIVA is looking forward to acting as the host club for Race #6 in the Cross on the Rock series, taking place Sunday November 8th, at Arbutus Meadows.... LITTLE PONY CROSS returns!

All the race details are available HERE. From there you can register (right now) for the race.

This race is on the back end of a doubleheader, meaning we *really* need a volunteer crew to help set up the course on Saturday, and take down Sunday. Please contact Ron at hewitsonron@gmail.com if you can volunteer!  Spread the word and come on out!  In 2013 the Pony Cross debuted at Arbutus Meadows and 173 racers took part. In 2014 attendance went through the roof to 241! With the Cross On The Rock races breaking records left right and center, let's take one down ourselves.

Posters (above) will be ready shortly so if you'd like one to put up somewhere to get the word out, let Ron know.

More information to come soon, including Tshirts and detailed volunteer assignments. Last year there was a (huge) amazing group of MIVA members who came to set this race up.
